1. SCOPE OF APPLICATION

Our Privacy Charter is applicable to all the personal data that we collect via the www.chimay.com web site or via other related means of communication.

Our Privacy Charter has been written in compliance with enforceable data protection legislation (EU Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and the European Council dated 27th April 2016 concerning the protection of individuals with regard to processing of personal data and the free circulation of such data).

    This data allows us to get a better grasp of your profile and your habits, as well as helping us to anticipate your needs.

5. DURATION OF DATA RETENTION

Your data will be retained solely for the required length of time and at the most 3 years from the date of 31st December following a lack of response to our messages.

(referred to hereafter as the “CHIMAY Group”).

 

Furthermore, we are likely, for certain activities, to call upon third parties specialised in their specific domains (communication, web site management, social network activity, database administration and enhancement, etc.). All these processors are listed in a processing activity register maintained in-house. We carefully select all our processors and ensure that they meet the same standards of personal data protection that we offer (including for our processors located outside the European Union). We maintain a register in-house that lists all our data processors. If necessary, we can provide you with information on the categories of our processors. In any case, your data shall never be sold.

8. IMAGE RIGHTS

Within the scope of our activities, close focus or broad angle photos may be taken. Unless you specify otherwise, we shall consider that you give your consent to such photos and their publication on the www.chimay.com web site or on other means of communication that belong to Bières de Chimay SA and Chimay Fromages SCRL.

9. DATA UPDATING

We undertake to delete or correct any data concerning you that proves to be inaccurate.

10. PROTECTION OF YOUR DATA

We guarantee that all the technical, organisational and human measures (such as firewalls, personal passwords, authentication systems, restricted access to files, etc.) are taken to ensure that your data is protected (in particular, against loss, misappropriation, access, modification and destruction that are unauthorised).

The means of storage as well as the security and confidentiality measures concerning your data are specified in a register of processing activities that we draw up and maintain in-house.

In the case of any personal data breaches, we undertake to inform the Data Protection Authority of them without undue delay and, where possible, with 72 hours at the latest after becoming aware of such a breach.

Needless to say, users shall remain solely responsible for the security and confidentiality of their connection data (user name, password, etc.).

11. YOUR RIGHTS

In compliance with enforceable legislation, any person concerned by processing of personal data has the right to:

  • Access their data and recover a copy of their data (in a format that can easily be used and which enables data portability).
  • Request the deletion of their data.
  • Modify their data if it is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Request restriction on use of their data.
  • Object to use of their data for processing and in particular processing for direct marketing purposes.

The requests shall be dealt with as soon as possible and in any case within a period of one month following reception of such a request.

We would also like to point out that any person concerned by processing of personal data has the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority if he or she considers that processing of his or her data is in breach of enforceable legislation concerning data protection.

12. PROVIDE COPYRIGHTS ON INSTAGRAM

By replying #YESCHIMAY on the social network, you accept these General Conditions of Use and You grant Chimay, free of charge, the right to use your photos for any purpose, commercial or not, on the website or Chimay's digital marketing, advertising and promotion, including but not limited to sites, newsletters and / or social media, but also in-store and on any other communication medium.

Consequently, You grant Chimay on the selected photos, free of charge, and for an indefinite period:

  • a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free right of use, distribution and exploitation,
  • a right to publish, reproduce, modify and distribute all or part of the photos selected.

13. MODIFICATION OF OUR PRIVACY CHARTER

Our Privacy Charter may be modified in order, in particular, to ensure its compliance with legal provisions.
