An authentic trappist beer

It's beautiful brown color is awash with hues ranging from smoldering copper to deep ruby. It's balanced blend of generous fruity flavors and toffee pleases every palate. A succession of ripe fruits such as orange, peach and apricot is paired exquisitely with sweet malty flavors such as nougat and biscuit. Its refreshing minerality and smooth bitterness complete the palette of flavors. The delightful pairing of aromas and flavors lingers well into the aftertaste and leaves the mouth eagerly anticipating the next sip.

 

A bit of history

Chimay Première was brewed for the first time in 1862. It is the oldest of the Chimay trappist beers, hence its “Première” appellation.

Chimay Première goes perfectly with every Chimay cheeses but particularly with the Grand Classic.
